Hearty Congratulations to Rama Sundar, Writer-in-Residence Fellow of Samyukta Research Foundation!
Rama Sundar is a classical singer and a visual artist deeply interested in writing poetry and
in painting. She is a performing Hindustani classical musician, an A grade All India Radio
artist having formally learnt the Indore Gharana gayaki from Guru Pt. Tejpal Singh ji. Rama is also a Spic Macay artist who does workshops on music and art for schools.
Rama has published books for children with publishers such as Rupa&Co, Navneet Publications,
Tata Infomedia and Shloka Publications. Her poetry which is inspired by her music and
paintings of the subcontinent have been published by Muse India. She has collaborated with a Bharatnatyam dancer to make a trilogy of short films with classical music and her poetry underscoring the idea of cross-pollination of art. The third in this trilogy was premiered by Samyukta Poetry in the Anantha festival.
Rama has a post graduate degree in Commerce from Bombay University and an MBA from
The United Kingdom. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in music under the guidance of Padma Bhushan Dr. L. Subramaniam.
